Along with a strong desire to eat pumpkin pancakes and a preoccupation with the wonders of the wind, fall makes me want to go home - to travel back to the deep greens and vibrant neon of fall in the Pacific Northwest. The first whiff of wood smoke is always quickly followed by bringing out my wool socks whether or not the sun is still warm.
