Not usually visited for its beauty, Coventry still holds attention for its interesting place in history and how decisions made long ago have affected it today. My basic impression is a city that is trying desperately to hold on to prosperous roots. Out of its past successes came illustrious plans which fell through and now the city is slowly collapsing because it relies on the past to keep it on its feet.

This certainly isn't to say that there aren't beautiful pieces from the past both recent and ancient to be seen in Coventry. Holy Trinity Church boasts a taste for the flairs of color that Medieval decorators used as well as a wonderful example of a doom painting from that same time.

And, of course, Lady Godiva holds her own in many courtyards and church niches.
