Find kitchens to take over and use. People don't mind as much when you give them amazing food in return for the time and space.
Travel under your own expectations, not everyone else's.
You need way less freshman year than you think you do.
Keep those things you use most often nearest you, but also make sure you have pretty things in sight as well.
Time with family is precious. Soak it up.
