Being spontaneous is important. Don't let academics take over. You don't want to go the other direction either, with your social life being the end of everything you do, but make sure that you do put people first most of the time. For example...if someone calls you at 7:30pm and asks you if you want to drive down the mountain in monk robes and post the 95 theses on people's doors, go for it. It's super fun.
Have some belongings that don't have a purpose. Keep them for their shape, their size, their interest, or simply for the way they feel in your hand.
Having maps around your room makes people think you're smart and cultured.
Go to church functions. Go on church retreats. Go to lunch with your church body.
